In the last two years the religious landscape of Myanmar has become more tense as religious and racial conflicts in various parts of the country have escalated to an extent never seen before.

One of the core values of the Lutheran World Federation is that of having harmonious relationships with other faiths, civil society organizations and state actors. In view of this, the LWF has through the history of its existence and ministry been in dialogue with other faiths, especially in countries where our member churches are located. As part of the LWF's public witness as a church communion, this Interfaith Conference will be a key event to encourage religious leaders to work together in initiatives that strengthen dialogue and promote unity among faith groups.
