The communion in Asia is diverse, with 17 countries hosting Lutheran churches. Many member churches exist in countries in which Lutheranism is a minority but nevertheless proclaim the gospel in word and deed. In this region, the presence of the LWF extends as far as India in the west and Papua New Guinea, in the Pacific. It also includes Israel/Palestine.
